5 Rochester, MN Rochester, MN Full-time Full-time $80,000 - $110,000 a year $80,000 - $110,000 a year MMUA's Regional Safety Coordinator has primary responsibility for conducting safety management services for participants within a group/region.
Additionally, s/he serves as a liaison between member utility employees and management on safety matters, and works within a larger statewide safety group to develop and deliver safety training and evaluation services for MMUA's member utilities.
Essential Functions:
Provide expertise and serve as a resource on occupational safety, health, and environmental matters.
Develop and conduct training within the required timeframe to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and policy requirements.
Conduct safety audits and inspections; provide constructive feedback and recommendations for improvements.
Evaluate personal protective equipment (PPE) and testing equipment to ensure proper function and integrity.
Facilitate safety committee meetings and serve as safety committee advisor.
Work collaboratively to develop/enhance a positive safety culture.
Maintain training records.
Serve as an ambassador for MMUA and support activities that enhance the association's brand.
Conduct specialized post-incident/accident review/investigation, audits, assessments, or other programs/services qualified to perform.
Maintain positive relationships with industry partners and state agencies (MNOSHA, MNDOT, etc.
).
Work collaboratively with and through colleagues to help MMUA achieve the goals in its strategic and operating plans.
Competencies Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language including print and digital formats.
Excellent interpersonal and customer/member service skills Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail and deadlines Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Broad knowledge of current state and federal safety compliance requirements, regulations, standards, codes, etc.
Travel required:
In-state travel by car to utility locations in south central Minnsotoa up to 20 days per month with occasional trips to other in-state locations.
Home to sleep 95% of the time.
Occasional overnight travel for events.
Required education and experience High school diploma or higher, with 130-Hour OSHA Academy Certification, and a minimum of 7
years' advanced experience in a safety-related role within the skilled trades industry.
Demonstrated skills in establishing and maintaining successful working partnerships and relationships.
Preferred education and experience Experience in utilities, not-for-profits, or associations is desirable Demonstrated training and program development skills Solid understanding of applicable industry regulations Ability to speak effectively in public Certified Journeyman Lineworker a plus Job Type:
