Position Summary The Food Services Coordinator oversees the daily operations of The Salvation Army's Rochester food services programs.
The Coordinator is responsible for all aspects of compliance and cleanliness, meal planning and preparing, and supervising volunteers and staff.
Essential Functions (approximate time spent) Prepare and oversee food preparation and provide meal service and supervision (45%).
Purchase food and supplies for food services program (10%).
Schedule and receive food deliveries (purchased and donated), checking contents and verifying product quality, content, and quantity (10%).
Oversee other food service operations (e.
g.
, food pantry, special events) (10%).
Plan menus and food utilization, based on anticipated number of meals, nutritional value, and within established budgetary constraints (5%).
Ensure and maintain safety and cleanliness of all food preparation, service, work areas, storage, equipment, and tools (5%).
Maintain an up-to-date inventory of food items and track required statistics (5%).
Coordinate maintenance, repairs, and improvements to food service areas and equipment (5%).
Ensure compliance with all relevant government and funder regulations and requirements (5%).
Education and Experience High School diploma or equivalent required.
Licensed Food Services Manager.
Two years of relevant experience required.
Must pass background checks.
Competencies Willing to support and promote the philosophy, goals, and mission of The Salvation Army.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Working knowledge of food service and nutritional guidelines and best practices.
Proficient with PC, Microsoft Office, and standard office equipment.
Working Conditions Moderate physical work and must be able to lift 50 pounds required.
Professional environment; not eligible for a remote-friendly work environment.
Must be able to sit and stand for reasonable periods of time.
Must be able to communicate clearly in English, and work in person or on the phone.
Supervisory Responsibilities Supervise, train, schedule, and mentor food service volunteers and staff.
