To carry out this essential function, the Care Attendant:
Assists residents with all activities of daily living.
Provides care that maintains each resident at the highest possible level of functioning.
Lifts, moves, and transports residents using proper body mechanics or lifting devices.
Answers call lights in a timely manner.
Maintains supply and stock of all materials to meet resident needs in the household.
Follows standard precautions, proper infection control, sanitation and safety standards of practice in all work and activities.
Assist with medications, treatments and care to residents.
To carry out this essential function, the Care Attendant role:
Administers and documents medications and treatments within scope of practice and according to doctor orders.
Organizes all supplies necessary to complete the tasks.
Follows standard precautions, proper infection control, and sanitation and safety standards of practice.
Maintains a safe, neat, and clean environment.
To carry out this essential function, the Care Attendant:
Cleans and sanitizes resident rooms and bathrooms.
Changes bed linens and does laundry.
Maintains clean spaces in the household, including common spaces such as the kitchen, hallways, living room, bathrooms, and spa.
Assists resident as needed with personal laundry (wash, iron, fold, sort).
Performs all job responsibilities in accordance with prescribed safety and infection control procedures, including thorough hand washing, use of disposable gloves where indicated, and proper disposal of soiled materials.
Promotes positive relationships with residents, family members, and coworkers.
To carry out this essential function, the Care Attendant:
Observes residents closely, identifying changing needs and conditions at first indication, and reports immediately to nursing or neighborhood leadership, as appropriate.
Works with all team members, led by resident preference to meet the needs and desires of all residents.
Maintains the comfort, privacy, and dignity of the residents.
Interacts with residents in a manner that displays warmth and promotes a caring environment.
Summary of education, training, experience, and/or certification/license needed in the role:
Must be at least 18 years old.
Follows/adheres to organizational policies and guidelines, including attendance.
Able to do basic math.
Able to read, write, spell, speak, and understand English.

The Care Attendant promotes the residents' psychosocial well-being through meaningful relationship building, and works with the team to meet other social service needs of the resident, always providing support, friendship and kindness.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
