6 1 day ago Full Job Description To carry out this essential function, the Maintenance Technician:
Responds to and acts upon any requests for repairs within the facility.
Time spent on repairs can include driving to and from stores for parts/equipment or other errands, research, ordering, repairing and replacement.
Coordinates and problem-solves with others for scheduling repairs to ensure cost-effective solutions.
Ensures that maintenance requests are completed in a timely manner.
Maintains open communication with others regarding delays and other pertinent information.
Responsible for preventative maintenance, which includes performing periodic inspections and servicing designed to maintain the physical plant and building systems in a safe, operating condition.
Performs repairs on unscheduled breakdown of equipment in emergency situations (fire alarms, waterline leaks, etc.
).
Attentive to life safety issues.
This includes performing tests or inspections for fire drills, and maintaining supportive equipment such as fire extinguishers, generator, exterior doors, and alarms.
Summary of education, training, experience, and/or certification/license needed in the role:
High School Diploma or GED.
Current Minnesota Driver's License.
Knowledge or experience in electrical, plumbing, pneumatics, air conditioning, HVAC, motors, pumps, bearings, etc.
Two or more years of experience in building maintenance, preferably at a skilled nursing facility.
Able to organize and prioritize projects.
Current Boiler License 2C or the ability to get one.
Follows/adheres to organizational policies and guidelines, including attendance.
Able to do basic math.
Able to read, write, spell, speak, and understand English.
The Maintenance Technician contributes to the mission by maintaining the physical environment for a safe and comfortable home for the residents.
This includes serving as a backup to the Groundskeeper position, especially for snow removal.
This position also serves as a role model to others and supports the interests of the organization.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
